In my photographic Material Body series, I focus on the female body, skin, and the materiality of relationships between the surfaces. I investigate the human form and the contradiction of protection and concealment with control and power. The series explores dominance and desire between the viewer and the subject, and the inherent tension between the perception of women and patriarchal society with the understanding that these issues are still ongoing.
